Castings coming out of heat treatment needed a controlled place to cool before moving on to the next process. The line was built around foreign-sourced equipment, and the customer wanted to localize it: build key equipment closer to home so parts, service and support would no longer depend on an overseas supplier. ICR was tasked with building a cooling tower that would cool every part evenly and integrate cleanly with the existing line.
Key Requirements
Cool parts on six independent shelves
Forced air at every shelf level
Built locally to localize foreign-built equipment
Integrate with the existing heat treatment line
Install, wire and program on site
The ICR Solution
ICR built a freestanding cooling buffer: a tower with six forced-air cooled shelves. Each shelf has its own blower, driven by an electric motor, with a dedicated air duct and outlet that sends a steady flow of cooling air across the parts on that shelf. The blowers mount on the back of the tower on individual plates and brackets, so each one is easy to reach for service. ICR installed the cooling tower assembly, wired the blower motors and controls, and programmed it to run with the line.

Results
The customer now has a locally built cooling tower in place of foreign-sourced equipment, with parts, service and support close to home. Six independently cooled shelves give every part the same forced-air cooling, and each blower can be serviced on its own without taking the whole tower down. ICR handled the build, installation, wiring and programming as one team.
